Miss is a bad influence. Visiting Halifax last Christmas, I got bit by the BPAL bug. I got over it after about a month and a bunch of imps (~30). Now, I'm suddenly ordering 4 imps. What just happened?

I'm not a fan of the "take a few moments to go and vote" posts. I agree that voter turnout is just sad. However, that kind of post just doesn't work for me. (I think my feeling is that it won't actually convince anyone who wasn't going to vote to vote after all.)

That said, since I did say to someone who a few days ago said they weren't going to vote, "Then you can't in my presence over the course of the next government complain about anything they do," I will announce to the world that I did indeed vote yesterday. My bitching rights are intact. (Miss bad influence can corroborate.)

In other news, Mayan Chocolate from the tea place at Bloor and Bathurst is yumminess. Omnomnom!

Yesterday that guy I sleep with called me from work and I overheard him tell a co-worker about the 'no complaining if you don't vote' rule and went on to mention having voted and liking to complain about the government.

There do seem to be a lot of people who feel that if you're not even willing to go put an X in a circle you don't deserve to complain.

It makes sense to me. If you can't be arsed to take a few minutes (or even an hour or two) to try to choose your government (or un-choose everyone else's government), you should STFU, just like you did on election day.
