Yeah, I know, I promised back to the regular stuff, but…

Cyndi Lauper's going back. The last track will not rip, nor copy through Finder, or even will it play. I really hope that's all the bloody disc has done. I've checked a few forums, and they say Macs aren't affected. I'm still a little worried.

On to the funny. But not funny ha-ha. >.<

While researching the Mac issue, I came across this. The best part is, I write Suncomm to complain about this DRM. Their website encourages people to write Apple and request them to "Open up their proprietary technology."

Remember, this is all to do with Sony, the company whose Beta format lost the VCR battle because they wouldn't open up their proprietary technology.

Just how stupid do they think we are?

Speaking of Cyndi Lauper ... were you around when I posted this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/robotmonster/61128.html

worse than that, the Suncomm DRM thing actually makes your computer unsecure, and there's nothing you can do to stop it once you put that disc in there. Make sure your virus checker is updated to deal with the Sony/Suncomm rootkit, and make sure you run it.

I will run a check when I get home tonight. I'm probably okay. Hell, it might just be a faulty disc. It's not supposed to affect Mac. But I still don't like it.

Thanks for the tip.

What's the name of that disc? I could find you a DRM-less version, if you want. :D

"Just how stupid do they think we are?" Answer: Very.

And if you can't read this disk on a Linux machine, are we supposed to complain about proprietary Linux technology? (My mind boggles at such a contradiction in terms)
