ginny_t: for best results, store Ginny in a warm sunny place (Default)

I admit, it was nice to see SkyDome almost full again. But they were cheering for the wrong team! It was nice to be surrounded by Baseball fans, not just people at a baseball game. But they were cheering for the wrong team! It was nice to see fans who didn't let themselves be taken out of the game just because their team was down 4 runs. But they were cheering for the wrong team!

On top of that, we were in an area where all the noise reverberated & echoed & just generally overwhelmed. Most of you don't believe this, but I'm a quiet, introverted person. Just, sometimes, I'm not.

So, um yeah, the Yankees won, my seeing the Jays win streak was broken. But I'm not bitter. Really, I'm not. However, I think I'm crossing The House that Ruth Built off my list of places to see... Yankees fans (in large groups) are scary.

This morning, rain. This afternoon, rain. Tonight - oh look! - just "cloudy". It's a good day to stay in pyjamas. That'll make going to the grocery store pretty interesting...

nothing beats going shopping while wearing one's pjs. it gives people a good reason to stare, for a change.

send some of the rain my way, por favor?

The other thing is that I have to cross the main street of Toronto to get to the grocery store. And while I wouldn't be the strangest thing on Yonge St., what with the rain & all, I'm gonna have to get dressed.

I hereby grant my share of the rain to you. Can you send me some sunshine?

Hi!

I noticed you lurking on my journal, and have added you as a friend (hey, you like baseball, how could I not? :-) )

Just curious how you came upon me, if you don't mind divulging your secrets! :-)

Hi, I'm Tim.

I'm Ginny! I came by way of [livejournal.com profile] jez_e_bel. She's responsible, it's her fault! And you had good interests, so I figured I'd take a peek. :-D

i used to go to the corner store in the village in my house clothes all the time. :-)

although in weather like this where the rain is almost sideways, pjs would get wet almost immediately, so perhaps a temporary change of clothes would be better.

You're lucky. It's hot here. Very hot. The kind of hot where you wish for your life to end because then you'd be buried in the cool, cool ground hot. I am very hot.

And sorry about the game. The Yankees offense has sucked the past two weeks, I think they wanted to get some of it out of their system.

Is the sun shining? I'll trade you some sunshine for some rain. Nice cool rain... You don't need that icky sunshine, just send it on up to Ginny.

Game? What game? (Yep, the delusions have kicked in - yay!)

It's not so much that as their smugness about buying yet another pennant. A game I attended last year that featured excellent pitching by Doc Halliday and butt-awful pitching by David Wells was ruined by these jerkoff fans gloating about the Yanks having a 15 game lead on Toronto.

Of COURSE they had a huge lead on the Jays. The Yankees payroll is only forty times what Toronto's is. :P

Yeah, yeah. I have no beef against Jays fans, they're fine. But Mets, Orioles, and of course Red Sox fans - they spend a fuckton of money as well and have nada. At least Yankee fans get results for their spending. (mocks Red Sox fans again)

Hooray for the Red Sox - providing common ground for Jays fans & Yankees fans since 1977! :D

My daughter's going to today's game courtesy of her uncle, my brother, 'cause it's her birthday today (she's 11). I hope she's having fun.

And of course I hope the Jays win.

And wearing pyjama's on Yonge street? I doubt anyone would even notice.
