Is it bad that while watching Coffee Prince, I keep stopping it to identify the tea tins in the background? Not only the brand, but also the flavour. *hides*
Yep. I have a very dear friend who keeps making puppy eyes at me and whining until I find myself in possession of a plane ticket and sadly abused credit card. The current plan is to be there around Labour Day. (Which will be on the way home from Paris. Paris!)
The correct answer is that she is not in Halifax enough. This does in fact lead to puppy eyes on occasion, but I challenge the "whining" point. I believe Miss Ginny meant to say "pouting endearingly".
But, see, Halifax has weather patterns like "light freezing drizzle"! It is very strange. I'm not sure I could be brought out here from the wonders of Ginlandia without endearing pouting, myself.
In its defense, it also has fog, which Toronto generally lacks. And an ocean. But yes, the weather is a little...quirky. (Are you from here originally?)
As I am in possession of a Princessipality in Ginlandia (which would be why my Ginny calls me spoilt, I daresay), I'm not about to argue its wonders. ^_-
Ah, well--if it's any consolation, you arrived at pretty much our worst time of year, weather-wise, so things should improve. (Straight down? O_o Whereabouts?)
Hey, if they can have manga about Go, tennis, golf, baseball, hockey, judo, being a salaryman at a multinational electronics manufacturer, taxicab vendors, emergency-room physicians, police officers, firefighters, search-and-rescue technicians, brewers, bakers, cooks, photographers, tappanyaki restaurant owners and magic using 10-year-old middle-school teachers from Wales...
I think the weirdest topic for a manga is the one Oyceter found that was about people who ride trains to get the special train bento (ekiben?).
(In the spirit of precision, Coffee Prince is a Korean drama based on novel[s]. But yeah, the thing that brings all the characters together is the coffee shop [with tea from Fauchon and Taylor's of Harrogate ^_^].)
