Watch Pleasantville. If you've never seen it, go now, do not pass go, forget about the $200 — this is much better. If you have seen it, watch it again.

So good. So much fun. A little unsubtle in certain areas, but forgiveable. (And an entirely different experience now that my inner feminist has developed more.) Worth it just for the visuals. *_*

It's the reason I will always have a soft spot for Reese Witherspoon, regardless of movies like Sweet Home Alabama (shudder), and why Toby MacGuire will always be a gargantuan dork in my head.

[edit: I didn't properly explicitate: this was a re-watch. I first saw it in theatres and have seen it a few times since, but it'd been a couple of years since the last viewing.]

I loved it, too! Def one of my faves. I *loved* the mother's storyline. Glad you liked it!

I've seen this a few times and loved it. It'd just been a while since I last saw it, so it was almost new. ^_^ So good. My ideal is to age like Leslie Caron, with a period of Joan Allen-ness first. *_*

And that image of Tobey Maguire is why he worked so well as Peter Parker for me.

I haven't seen all of Pleasantville, but I saw enough. Quick, to the TorrentMobile!

Pleasantville is a genuinely clever film. It got a little preachy at times as you mentioned, but on the whole it's a wonderful film. I completely with the person who commented that Pleasantville is why I accepted Toby MacGuire as Peter Parker.

It is one of my favorite movies. The concept is fun and it would be so neat if you could actually do it. tee hee
