Men's figure skating finals
Feb. 16th, 2006 04:38 pmNo, you don't need to double check, this isn't
andora. ^_^
Emmanuel Sandhu, I'm so disappointed in you. Y'know, you can trash talk all you like about '98, but here you are, finally at the Olympics, and you didn't bring it.Six Eight years ago is over. You are responsible for what you do, and if what you do is get caught in bitterness about a pissy decision over and done with, then you suck.
I'm quite disappointed in the figure skating so far this Olympics.
I'm even grumbly/pissy about this "field of one" bullshit going on in the men's.
bah!
In other news, the Men's hockey team won. Yay! Canada hockey!

Date: 2006-02-16 02:09 pm (UTC)From '98, I think that would be eight years?
Poo on inconsistent skaters anyway.
(I confess I only really got into men's figure skating when it was Elvis Stojko doing the Bruce Lee routine. Mmm, pretty.)

Date: 2006-02-16 02:18 pm (UTC)I haven't really followed skating for a while. The whole Sale/Pelletier thing made me bitter.

Date: 2006-02-16 03:15 pm (UTC)Man, I watched Emanuel skate with sound off and bad reception at work, and felt like crying. I really felt he was waiting for olympic ice to do it. After injury in 2002 and 1998. :( It's so hard being his fan. I don't know that we'll see him skate again. Ever. That was so bad.
But!!! SHAWN SAWYER! He has the muscle to stick landings and fight for them like Elvis and Kurt, and the Toller-ness in his skating!!! :D If only he looked more like Orser, he'd be perfect. So there is SO MUCH HOPE for 2010!
Yeah, Plushenko? (*#@&$@ So overrated. Vastly.
fsuniverse.net *prods* :D

Date: 2006-02-16 03:38 pm (UTC)Shawn Sawyer was nifty, yes. ^_^ (Although again, the announcers were all "he's so Toller-ish" and then a minute later, they were pointing out the Toller-like stuff again. It's hard, I know, to fill the silence, so I guess my complaint is with the need to fill the silence.)
*is prodded* I don't normally mention figure skating, because I know you're so much more informed a fan than I am. I'm still bitter over the Sale/Pelletier thing. Actually, I'm bitter about the year the pros came back and Brasseur & Eisler were robbed (although I felt they skated better than *anyone* in that competition).
