I covet a non-Mac laptop. *hangs head* But it's little! And light! What kind was it [livejournal.com profile] gruberman?

So, I might be bugging my tech friends for help with finding a teeny, über-light laptop that's Linux supported. (What, you didn't think I would run Windoze, did you?)

Yesterday's class was all about nutrition. Again, I was tempted to make a vow to "eat better". But I know the futility of that. So I will make an effort to eat less badly. It's a start. I'm also liking the look of the Mediterranean Food Guide - it looks pretty sensible. The first step has been to get stevia for tea. With the caffeine rinsing, I've been drinking a lot more (yay!), but that means more sugar, too (boo!).

And I'm curious: I remember something being said recently about the US changing their food guide, and I was wondering if they did. (And I feel I should point out that the food guides are heavily influenced by the agriculture industry. Like conflict-of-interest influenced.)

Today, I will study. I will not knit. I will study. Yes.

[edit: Must not do [livejournal.com profile] flamika's music meme. Must. Not. It would take too much time. Must study. Must not meme. *pout*]

How is the Stevia?

Different. The sugar changes the mouth feel of the tea ever-so-slightly. And the stevia has a slight aftertaste. Nothing like aspartame - *shudder*. I think I can adjust. But if I'd known the liquid would be so viscous, I would've gone for the powder. *shrug* Live & learn!

(Daisy liked the ribbon curlicues you put on the bath bomb boxes. ^_^ I've removed them now, for my sanity and her health.)

Couldn't you knit and study? Like knit whatever you need to know into a scarf or something?

I could, but what I'm working on right now has a pattern that I need to pay attention to. And I really should be more disciplined. So I've worked out a plan: read 3 pages, knit some, read 3 pages, knit some. That kind of thing. ^_^

I actually saw some laptops recently on NCIX from a company called I think ECS which ship with no operating system so you're not paying for a copy of Windows. (Most PC laptops require you to buy Windows with it, even if you don't intend to use it.)
