Ysa is learning to knit. *ducks from the wrath of Chris*

Whenever I teach people to knit lately, I've had new appreciation for the person who taught me how to knit. (Unfortunately, she turned out not so well.)

Ysa says: "hello world".

[edit: [livejournal.com profile] linzq, I can't find the knitting poem, and I remember you posting it awhile ago. Cause SnB has some weird poem about "cat barf".]

Well, we are getting together tomorrow night… (She is currently woefully self-conscious about her knitting skillz. But we can break her of that, I'm sure!)

Ysa says hi!

Balls to the woeful self-consciousness! She shall knit artlessly in public, and drop stitches shamelessly, and say fuck it and unravel periodically, and exult over a successful stockinette stitch, and it will be fine. Just having the yarn out in public is the fun part, not what you do with it.
We had a rank noob at one of the stitch n brunches I attended... someone handed her yarn and needles and about 20 stitches cast on, and we did our best to help her from there. And it was fine.

Hello!

^^ So far I've successfully knitted four rows of a tiny square. So I probably won't be up for public knitting tomorrow night . . . but then, it occurs to me that the other people coming have seen me trying to write a novel in 30 days, so this can't possibly look any sillier. ^_^

Hint: Take a really pretty yarn and no one will care what you can do with it because they'll all want to touch it and feel it and ooh and ahh and you'll get compliments on how NICE that yarn is. :D

Bring the knitting, durnit!

May! May isn't so far! (I say, except that Kevin saying "I'll see you in May" on Saturday made me burst into tears and sob all over him. >.> Not exaggerating.)

Hmmm, I am not remembering where I got the poem from...
or where I posted it...

was it on my lj rather than my blogger?

I went through the blogger and couldn't find, and by the time that was done, I didn't feel like going through your archives. So I got lazy and asked. It isn't a big deal; she's pretty much caught the hang of it.

Sorry, can't find it.
I bet you'd find a ton if you googled, though!

The stocking poem is nifty! (Someday, I may make stockings using it. But maybe not, because I have a pretty good sock pattern.)

I remember (I do! I do!) a poem about a bunny, I'm pretty sure.

I've read this a couple of times now, and I'm wondering where my wrath enters the picture...

Wait 'til she wants to go to the yarn store… then you'll understand. In fact, we're going to one on Friday.

Yes. *hangs head* But think of hand-knit scarves! Or! Think of the GinnyHug™ you would get if you were wearing a sweater knit by Ysa…

Yay on knitting! ^__^ And more yay on going to a yarn shop! *a little jealous* ^^;

I feel: why is "newly deafened" not a mood?
Music: Ysa's running commentary about her knitting trials & tribulations - she shrieks, I am deaf

*laughs* Reminds me of when I first started trying to knit. Good luck to both of you and have fun! ^___^
