ginny_tIt's so true - when I'm doing my Ψ reading, it's the stuff that relates to me that hits me hardest. In other news, we are fucking awesome creatures! (expletive necessary) Amazing, the things our brains do!
When I'm doing that reading, or other "deep" thinking, I go into this funny mode. Can I describe it? I'll try: there's this sense of wonder at the complexity of everything, this amazement at the hubris of science trying to understand/explain the complexity of everything, this sense of the incomprehensibility of the world. But at other times, as I'm assembling unrelated pieces of the world and history and Life As We Know It™, I think I'm assembling the pieces of a mosaic (or considering my own craftiness, maybe the threads of a tapestry) of understanding, and one day, everything will click! into place and I will see the picture. On the subject of hubris!
Godzilla skin has started already. *cries*
Today is a day for staying inside. And so I will. It's been a busy weekend - NaNo social on Friday, Roupen's birthday dinner yesterday. (Happy birthday! Thanks again for the soyummy dinner! I have to try to replicate that soup sometime very soon. Yes.) And such a strange day - woke up to gray & rain, we had thunderstorms, and now there is blue sky with clouds strung across it…
Daisy is a möbius kitty! She doesn't like to be held on her back, so when I grab her under her ribcage & pull her backwards onto my lap (which I do often), she flops over to the side. And since one of the principles of gestalt is closing the figure, my brain says "möbius!" hee.
In less happy news, I've pulled her off either unworked fibre or hand-made garment twice this weekend. At least she's helping me with my putting-stuff-away initiative. Or something.
However, I cannot complain about the kitties. When I went out yesterday, the door to their litter box got accidentally closed. I came home, immediately noticed, and was very pleased that they hadn't left me any surprises. Yay! kitties!
Lately, I've been thinking "I really need a X icon". Dear Ginny: see recent entry re: haemorrhaging money for why you can't buy more icon space.
