Caring for your Introvert. If you know an introvert (and you do *points to self*), go read this.

Introversion has nothing to do with shyness or being a "people-person". It's all about where you gather your energy - if you need time alone, you're an introvert. And just because someone's an introvert doesn't mean that they don't enjoy company.

Okay, lecture over.

Okay, not quite over. I now rave about the French language. English needs an equivalent of "on", sort of a general, hypothetical "you". And very passe-partout. Another awesome French word.

By definition, yes. But in usage, they're not equivalent. Not in my experience.

I'd say pretty close though more so in British English than North American. 50 years ago the usage was virtually identical but the impersonal "you", ugly as it is, is used more often when "one" would be more correct and, to my ears, more euphonious. Ror politeness sake though, one wouldn't want to deprecate North American usage too much, would one?

good article. and although i'm introvert myself, i find myself sometimes trying to draw out other introverts... i think because sometimes i myself do want to be drawn out, at times.
