Reign in Darkness. So vile! Now, don't get me wrong, I have a use for a good awful movie from time to time. For example, The Core was predictably awful and enjoyable for it. This was just badness - bad acting, bad effects, horrible narration throughout the whole movie. I lost count of the number of times I said "Thank you, Mr. Exposition." (Notice I haven't even mentioned the "plot" yet?)

It's one of the drawbacks of my movie connection friends. Sure, I get good stuff, unexpected gems like Secondhand Lions, or Femme Fatale (which I watched earlier this week, expected to be bad, but was surprisingly entertained), but I also get crap like that.

Oh well, I'm not their friend because of the movies they give me!

Must cleanse my brain now.

Any movie where the same guys writes it, directs it and acts in a main role in it is hitting the potential audience with a large cluestick that it is probably really, really bad.

Any movie where TWO people BOTH write, direct and act in it is likely twicce as bad.

The only exception that I can think of is Citizen Cain, but the Orson Welles was a special case.

It is an injustice that the same word, "movie", is used to describe this stinking pile of putrescence and the wonderfulness that is other movies. (Which could include some of the View Askew movies, I've only seen one, though, so I can't really say.)
