ugh. If I'm going to splurge on a pastry, ignoring the cost, calories & sugar, I damned well want it to be delicious. It wasn't. It was okay, but... *shrug*

Why do I keep buying cinnamon rolls when all they do is make me want to make better ones? (I had a savage heathen upbringing, but don't I recall something about no leavened bread during Lent? oops.)

'sokay, Lent doesn't start until tomorrow. :D

Also: mm, I haven't had a decent cinnamon roll in years. Admittedly, part of this is a product of my not patronizing bakeries, but...

As mentioned, Lent doesn't start till tomorrow. So today is Pancake Tuesday. There should be crepes. ;)

When I grew up with Lent, the basic rule was: that you fasted on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday (which I haven't ever done); that you picked one thing to 'give up' during lent so that you could suffer with Christ, something like cookies or pizza; and that you ate no meat on Fridays (we still tend to eat fish on Friday at home, Lent or no).

These days, as a lapsed Catholic, I tend to ignore most of it. ^^;;
