I'm pretty sure that last night on the subway, they didn't mean to announce to the riders that the "delay track level" hadn't been cleared up. Ooops.

This afternoon's class is cancelled - yay! But I feel bad cheering that the instructor is too sick to conduct the class. *hangs head in shame*

I'm still figuring out this discretion thing. Some of the students don't want to be identified with the notetaker, won't sit with us, won't make eye contact, won't be seen with us. But I do need to have some contact with them, so we need to figure something out.

It's really horrible to be young. The average student just seems an extension of a teenager (hell, some of them still are). It's awful - they have no responsibilities, no achievements, nothing to give them true pride; they have the pressure to seem normal, not stand out, be popular; on top of all that, they have the older generation looking at them wistfully, thinking that youth is wasted on the young and that they have it so easy. yeesh!

How do you like the job, anyway? Even yesterday, the recruiter's been giving me the runaround about when my interview would be. Which is kind of absurd, because the semester has already started. Maybe I should have considered it a lost cause back in December when I told her that I had to be out of town for exactly the two days when the interviews were supposed to take place.

I like it a lot. Last week, I was a little stressed, getting used to it & being back in school, and there's lots of details to watch, but I have pretty good classes, a very good schedule, and it fits with what I want to do right now.

I guess it really does depend on the schedule and the classes. That's probably why I'm concerned about getting a late interview (if I get one at all), because I don't want to end up with all the fragments in the schedule that are across town from one another. Oh well. I'm glad to hear it's worth keeping up hope for.

Have you found yourself thinking how much harder it was when you were a kid yet?

Not that much, no. But that's just because it actually hasn't gotten any easier...
