Yep, should be writing. Reading lj instead. *hangs head in shame*

Must do character sheets. But I don't know, I never have before. Of course, the only thing I have finished to date is last year's monstrosity. What an editing job that will be. Yesterday's headache is nothing in comparison!

Okay! To work!

(There's a point to this, really: lj too much distraction. Friends list will be trimmed. Apologies if you get cut. It's nothing personal, just must be disciplined!)

are you doing the character sheets? have been thinking about that... I suppose it could be helpful but also think that it's extra work and distraction from the actual writing... hmmmm...

I've tossed the character sheets. It was procrastination. (Like the knitting isn't? Actually, it's helping me work through some stuff.)

knitting's different (and I anyone to say differently!;-) - think there's a beneficial effect of meditative knitting that helps works the story out in your mind... character sheets are procrastination - unless you're writing for the screen and trying to put together a bible that other people are going to have to use for reference... but not for a novel...

I presume you mean character sheets like 'this is my protagonist, he has blond hair, blue eyes, is an Aries, was traumatised by milk at the age of 4 due to a mix-up over school lunches, and likes candlelight dinners, long walks on the beach… etc' type of stuff?

Man, I need to learn how to write like a real writer.

Yes, but those would be the character sheets I've thrown away in favour of making it up as I go along. I have no idea what "real writers" do, so I can't help you there.
