Jan. 11th, 2005 11:00 amI'm pretty sure that last night on the subway, they didn't mean to announce to the riders that the "delay track level" hadn't been cleared up. Ooops.
This afternoon's class is cancelled - yay! But I feel bad cheering that the instructor is too sick to conduct the class. *hangs head in shame*
I'm still figuring out this discretion thing. Some of the students don't want to be identified with the notetaker, won't sit with us, won't make eye contact, won't be seen with us. But I do need to have some contact with them, so we need to figure something out.
It's really horrible to be young. The average student just seems an extension of a teenager (hell, some of them still are). It's awful - they have no responsibilities, no achievements, nothing to give them true pride; they have the pressure to seem normal, not stand out, be popular; on top of all that, they have the older generation looking at them wistfully, thinking that youth is wasted on the young and that they have it so easy. yeesh!
