That's what my tastebuds sang to me as I treated them to Hollywood Gelato. A scoop each of raspberry, mango and Valrhoma chocolate. They were transcendentally delicious!

Linz & I had a nice walk. We went to the tea shop. I bought Earl Grey tea! But Earl Grey with caramel and vanilla. It's called Cream of Avalon. If it tastes near as good as it smells, oooooh the bliss!

And then we went cheese shopping. Tasty. Fortunately, I couldn't get anyone's attention to ask about the camembert with calvados. Unfortunately, I have another cheese shop around the corner and I have to pass it on my errands this afternoon. Be strong Ginny.

Another breakdown in willpower. But this time, not for me. I found the most wonderful jewellery stand in another shop along that stretch. (Bayview between Davisville & Eglinton is dangerous!) It's absolutely perfect for my friend, and she's so good and thoughtful to me every year. The problem is that her birthday is past, and Christmas is months away. I'm not a patient person. I want to see the delight on her face as she opens it!

The camembert with Calvados is very good. I did pass on it at the market this morning in favour of a Chambertin though. Our paths almost crossed this afternoon. I was at Contact Editions shopping for books followed by a pint at the Granite Brewery.

Oh shoot! I might've finally met you. One of these days. I will take you up on that rugby offer, some Saturday that's good for you.

How about August 7th? The Nomads have a full slate of fixtures at Fletchers plus it's the Saracens 50th celebration so I may even get an old boys game. Rumour has it that David Miller might play that w/e but I can't promise that!

Unfortunately, I can't on the 7th - I have plans that I can't reschedule. Which is a shame, because it sounds like a good day to go. What about the 31st?

There isn't much happening that w/e because it's a holiday. I'll take a look and see what's on later in August

This is why I believe in christmas all year round. Sometimes you just see something perfect for someone you care about, and decide to get it. Why should we be fenced into just giving gifts a handful of days a year?

I've started picking up things if I see something that I think a person will enjoy and holding on to it until their birthday/christmas (most likely Christmas). I have a box under the bed for just that kind of thing, that way I can pick up things throughout the year (and spread the cost of Christmas over the entire year rather than in a short 1-month period) and I get things that I know they'll like. I have a few things in mind that I want to pick up right now when I get the chance...
