Excercise of Willpower Status: Failed
Jul. 10th, 2004 09:25 amUh, yeah. Willpower? I might be allergic. At the Hairy T, I picked up another Full Metal Panic! DVD, 'cause they didn't have any of the manga I wanted. And then I turned around, and happened to glance up. Eeeeee! New printings of the Nausicaa manga! So pretty! And at US cover price! So, I got four. This printing has 6 or 8 volumes, but everyone's telling me the manga's so much better than the movie, so I was going to have to get it someday, right?
(I should've known I was in trouble when I went to the bead store to buy $1 worth of beads and left $11 later. sigh)
And I resisted so many other temptations. Like the first Kare Kano DVD in the half-price or buy-one-get-one-free bin. And then Demo bought it. And I gazed at it covetously. But I was good, I said nothing to spoil the pleasure he took in his acquisition. Sigh. And then he gave it to me! Yay! He said he was buying an odd number, so it worked out that way. Must find way to properly show appreciation. Demo's a good guy. (I can't use the word "nice". He doesn't like that.)
And then Jelynne joined us, and we forced her to enter the den of temptation. She complained, but we didn't have to injure her all that badly to get her in there... And then we had dinner at the Pickle Barrel. I confess, I was sceptical. And then I saw the menu, and my tastebuds started singing. A portobello mushroom sandwich! And then it arrived. And my tastebuds danced! They danced for joy and sang the "We love mushrooms" song. And I got portobello mushroom juice all over my hands and licked my fingers and didn't care that it was bad manners. Sooooo yummy!
I had odd dreams last night. For making pie today with Linz, I said I would look for the TV re-make of South Pacific. And I dreamed of that. And a teacher. (?) And other weirdness. Urgh. That's what I get for saying that my subconscious is giving me a break.
