It's so true
Jan. 25th, 2006 06:42 amAs societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate, action: you liberate a city by destroying it. Words are to confuse, so that at election time people will solemnly vote against their own interests. -Gore Vidal
*cry* (That's the quote from today's A Word A Day)
I just joined a sock knitting group (
knitting_ninja, it's this one), and one of the conversations is about the cost of some sock wool. And I can't quote, because I just joined, so don't feel right asking if I can, but one woman wrote the most loveliest thing about God giving her only one set of feet, and at one point, she neglected them so much that she couldn't walk for months, so now, her One Pair of Feet get the good sock yarn. It was lovely.
And yes, I know the knitting stuff is supposed to go in the other place, but can any of you tell me what is STM?
Crappity!
