Lovely lazy day
Jun. 25th, 2004 02:58 pmHeh. I was sitting on the balcony, enjoying the sun, in my grrrl power! pyjamas, with hello kitty slippers on. Life is good. Sharra discovered the joy of my new chairs, finally, and curled up on the other one. Oh, good. Another surface for her to get all furry.
Ballet recital tonight. I'm just looking forward to it being over. It was kind of neat to have the dress rehearsal last night. I'm even in the program as "cast", since I'm "playing" Julie. In reality, I'm just a place holder, but hey, any extra credit...
I'm really glad I took today off. It's getting pretty awful at the big red bank. I keep hearing whispers of something else (I'm superstitiously refraining from talking about it too much). If it were to happen, that would be soooo wonderful. So, I'm holding out patiently, as long as possible... But we all know how I do with patience.
On a slightly geekier front, I've been watching Planetes lately. First I had episodes 1-21, then I couldn't find 22 & 23, so I had to download the whole series again. Then the "whole" series didn't have 25, so I had to search for it. Grrr! It's cliff-hanger-y! I can't handle this patience stuff! Instant gratification - that's what I need. On top of that, I'm not sure how I feel about the series. At first I thought it was an interesting watch, but not a keeper. Then I started to think it might be a keeper after all. But if this cliffhanger ends badly... I just can't get attached to any of the main characters.
I've also discovered Samurai 7. It's based on Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. So far, there are only 2 episodes out, but it's pretty good.
