I put my plant in the boardroom over the weekend, in the window, to get lots of sun. Someone lowered the blinds and didn't care that my plant was in the way. Fortunately, only one stem was broken, but - Grrrr! Silly cyclamen's been blooming steady for a year now. I don't understand - suddenly, I have somewhat of a green thumb.

I did try to kill my ivy & violet last year by putting it on the balcony for sun. I know it's an African violet, but there wasn't enough sun inside the apartment... It got spider mites. We didn't see until I took it back to my mother's to sit on the dishwasher in the bay window. Somehow, though, although we were too late to "save" the ivy, once Mom cut away the dying stems, the silly thing started growing again. I keep saying I'm going to write a story about two friends named Ivy & Violet.

After spending a frightful amount of money on tea over the weekend, I forgot to bring any to work. At least I have some teabags here, rather than having to resort to the dusty stale Red Rose crap. (Heh heh, Maral said it was "harlot tea, because it's loose". I may never think about looseleaf tea the same way again.)

So, sitting at Pimblett's yesterday, poor Andrew didn't know about De-Lovely. And I told him about it, especially how many days are left. His reply was: "When is your recital?" Neurons fired, connections were made, and I wanted to cry. Booooo! I'll have to wait 'til the Saturday to see it. But, no, that's baseball. Hmmm... Sunday? Eeep! Too long to wait!

25 days left )

It's a rather unpleasant day here. J scheduled training, but didn't take lunch coverage into account. She always does this - when will she learn?!? And then I discover that our software's getting caught on something that's been a problem since the day it was implemented. And the new coverage team's being as persnickety as usual. Deep breath.

Things are a little better now. This morning was just icky. But yummy lunch (leftover cold spring rolls from Saturday dinner, structural integrity maintained, no level-10 force field required) and a chat with a nice Analyst here helped lots. It's too bad about the gray day, but it was a nice walk this morning. Aside from the wind, that is.

No word from Jez at all today. *sigh* There's work I could do. Work I should do, but I want to play instead. Everything seems quiet today.

[Edit: Check out today's Astronomy Picture of the Day - pretty!]
